How the Editor Works
Discover how easy it is to create professional GRAFCETs for free with the editor. Learn everything about using it on different devices.
Desktop Controls
Optimized for precise work with mouse and keyboard
Place Elements
Click on an element in the toolbar (bottom) and it will be automatically placed on the canvas. Alternatively, drag and drop elements from the toolbar.
Create Connections
Hover over a step – connection points appear (top, bottom, left, right). Click on a point and drag the line to the target element.
Edit Elements
A simple click on an element opens the edit dialog. There you can enter labels, action qualifiers (N, S, R, D, L) and time values.
Navigation & Zoom
Hold the left mouse button on the background to pan the view. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out.
Delete
Select an element and press Delete or Backspace to remove it. The initial step cannot be deleted.
Undo
Click the undo button (top right) to undo the last action. Up to 50 steps are saved.
Tablet Controls
Touch-optimized for comfortable work on the go
Place Elements
Tap on an element in the toolbar and it will be automatically placed. The toolbar is horizontally scrollable for easy access to all elements.
Move Elements
Hold an element and drag it to the desired position. The grid ensures automatic alignment.
Create Connections
Tap on an element to open the floating toolbar. Select 'Connection' and then tap on the target element.
Edit Elements
Tap on an element to show the floating toolbar. Select 'Edit' to open the dialog.
Navigation
Swipe with one finger over the background to pan the view. Use two-finger gesture to zoom.
Menu & Export
Tap the menu icon (top right) to open the sidebar. There you'll find export options (PNG, PDF), New GRAFCET and history.
More Features
Auto-Save
Your GRAFCET is automatically saved in the browser. On your next visit, you'll find your work exactly as you left it.
Export as PNG & PDF
Export your GRAFCETs as high-resolution PNG images or PDF documents. Both formats include the filename with date and time.
No Account Required
Start immediately without registration. All data remains local in your browser – we don't store any of your GRAFCETs on our servers.
PWA Support
Install grafcet.io as an app on your device for faster access and offline use. Works on all modern browsers.
Dark Mode
Switch between light and dark design via the menu. Easier on the eyes during extended work sessions.
History & Restore
The last 5 GRAFCET versions are saved. You can restore earlier versions via the menu.
