How the Editor Works

Discover how easy it is to create professional GRAFCETs with the editor. Learn everything about using it on different devices.

Desktop Controls

Optimized for precise work with mouse and keyboard

Place Elements

Click on an element in the toolbar and it will be automatically placed on the canvas. Alternatively, drag and drop from the toolbar. Use Alt+1 to Alt+9 to create elements directly at the mouse position.

Create Connections

Hover over an element – connection points appear. Click on a point and drag the line to the target element. Elements are also connected automatically when dragged close enough together.

Edit Elements

A click on an element opens the editing options directly on it. Labels, action types, step types, and time values can be changed immediately.

Copy, Paste & Delete

Use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy and paste elements. Hold Ctrl and drag an element to duplicate it. Ctrl+A selects all elements. Delete or Backspace removes the selection.

Navigation & Zoom

Hold the left mouse button on the background to pan the view. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out. Ctrl+0 fits the view to all elements.

Undo & Redo

Use Ctrl+Z to undo changes and Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo them. Up to 200 steps are saved.

Tablet Controls

Touch-optimized for comfortable work on the go

Place Elements

Tap on an element in the toolbar and it will be automatically placed. The toolbar is horizontally scrollable for easy access to all elements.

Move Elements

Hold an element and drag it to the desired position. The grid ensures automatic alignment.

Create Connections

Drag a line from a connection point to the target element. Elements can also be connected automatically when dragged close enough together.

Edit Elements

Tap on an element to display the editing options directly. Labels, action types, and step types can be changed immediately.

Navigation

Swipe with one finger over the background to pan the view. Use two-finger gesture to zoom.

Menu & Export

Tap the menu icon (top right) to open the sidebar. There you'll find export options (PNG, SVG, PDF), New GRAFCET and history.

More Features

Auto-Save

Your GRAFCET is automatically saved in the browser. On your next visit, you'll find your work exactly as you left it. With a Pro account, GRAFCETs are additionally backed up in the cloud.

Export as PNG, SVG & PDF

Export your GRAFCETs as PNG, SVG, or PDF. Configure scaling, paper size (A4, A3, A2), orientation, and an optional title block.

File Format & Sharing

BETA

Save GRAFCETs in .grafcetio format and reload them anytime. Shareable links allow GRAFCETs to be sent directly to others.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Ctrl+Z/Y for undo/redo, Ctrl+C/V to copy/paste, Alt+1-9 for quick placement, Ctrl+E for export, F1 for the full shortcut overview.

Dark Mode

Switch between light and dark design via the menu. Easier on the eyes during extended work sessions.

History & Restore

The last 3 GRAFCET versions are saved in the browser. You can restore earlier versions via the menu.
